Suite 181 had the awesome presence of Desired Temptations! Some people can resist anything except temptation. He he ;)
I love doing these quick portrait sessions in the clubs. I noticed that her top matched the color of the walls in the hallway leading up and down the two floors of the club. I asked her to stop for a quick second so that I can take her picture. I had to fix the color cast in Photoshop though. I think that it still came out pretty well.
I didn't notice that my lens had fogged up which is why the second picture has that diffused, gaussian blur look to it at the edges. The center of the lens had already cleared up, but the sides still had some fog left. It's a good thing I had my lens filter on! I don't know if I would have risked cleaning the front element of my "L" lens with just a napkin.
Anyway, here's a lens cleaning tip that's pretty helpful if you absolutely have no choice but to use a napkin.
"Stop at the nearest bar, ask the bartender to moisten a clean, soft cocktail napkin with vodka, and proceed as if you had lens cleaning fluid and tissue." (Popular Photography & Imaging, January 2007)
I was hanging out near the bar around the end of the night. The place was still pretty packed even though it was almost closing time. I was getting ready to leave when the go-go dancer stopped me and asked if I would like to take a picture of her with the staff. What was I going to do? Say no? No way! Haha. Of course I stayed and took a few pictures of them. She's quite pretty and she also has a great personality. I actually stayed a bit longer and chatted with her for a while.

It's relatively easy to get parking around Whisper. I got there around 10:30PM since it was my first time shooting there. I went through the back entrance by mistake and one of the bouncers asked me where I was going. I showed him my camera and said that I'm there to take pictures. He was very courteous and told me to go right in. Sometimes it feels like you get VIP treatment when you're the nightclub photographer. Haha. Good stuff.
I was shooting at two different nightclubs this night and I was told to go to Ana Mandara first. It's actually a restaurant in the daytime that they turn into a club at night. Anyway, I was told that they already had a couple of photographers inside and that I should come back after midnight. Some of the women's boyfriends got pissed at the photographers the prior weekend because there were too many of them. I guess that they always asked the same people if they want to have their picture taken. I was kind of disappointed at first, but it turned out to be in my favor in the end.
I left and went to the second location. I came back to Ana Mandara around 1:15AM and a lot of people were just chillin'. As luck would have it, I took a picture of this hot chick and she liked how her pictures turned out. She said that they're the best pictures she's ever taken at a nightclub. Woo hoo! That's one great thing about digital photography -- instant feedback! You can show the picture to the guests right away and if they like it, then they're more open to having more of their pictures taken.
I made my round in the location and tried to get as many pictures as I can in a short period of time so that I can come back to this very beautiful woman. She basically became my model for the night. She's gorgeous and very friendly. I also love her accent!
I'd like you all to meet Liliana.
Jeremy Jackson and Jennylee Berns of Beauty and the Geek were at Crash to promote the new Smet clothing line. Jennylee is a natural beauty! She looked as gorgeous as she did on TV. From what I can tell, she also seems to be very nice and down to earth. It's easy to see why Nate Dern fell for her.

Rock on!
I was people watching for a while and I noticed that a bunch of the guys who were just standing around drinking were all turning their heads in the same direction. I saw that Myrna Star and Serina were entering the room. It made perfect sense!

Every now and then, you'd meet some people who are so easy to photograph that it makes your job so much easier. This was one of those nights.
